HYC Youth Regatta was a huge success
(Sunday, August 9th, 2009)Our 5 Annual HYC Youth Regatta was a huge success not for just the beautiful weather but the tremendous help and volunteer spirit that drives this event.
This year we hosted over 90 boats over two days of racing. We hope to have more info, photo’s, and results posted in the next few days, so stay tuned. To all that participated, thank you very much! This is what it’s all about.

Great Youth Regatta! Many little boats, many happy people! It was a great time well spent. Thankyou…Jeb
Our team of Instructors ran a great and very successful regatta. Our volunteers on and off the water provide the infrastructure for parking, housing, registration, the great meals, spectator boats, Race Committee boats and of course all the clean up to put the club back together for our membership for the weekend. Including the parents and coaches from away we hosted over 180 people for two fabulous weather days. What would HYC do with out a small storm and rain shower to end this great event on Friday!
The only surprise to me is still how many of our HYC members who are unaware of such a significant club event being held for our kids and those from visiting clubs around Maine. What can we do to increase the awareness and membership participation in our most valuable club program???? Email your ideas to me or Blog them here!!!
